Do you have a favourite worn-out garment you wish you could make again? If you have a favourite top, dress, or other simple garment that's been worn and loved, this course will teach you how to recreate it—without unpicking a single stitch! Designed for adults with a minimum of basic sewing skills, this hands-on 6-week course will guide you through the process of creating a sewing pattern from an existing garment and sewing your own version. Maximum class size: 4 Small classes mean plenty of individual guidance and support. During this course you'll learn how to: - Create a pattern from an existing garment without taking it apart. - Understand basic pattern-making techniques. - Check and measure your pattern for accuracy. - Add seam allowances and essential pattern markings. - Plan the construction of your garment. - Make and fit a mock-up (toile). What to bring - A standard T-shirt (to learn the basic pattern-making process) - The garment you'd like to copy - Pen, pencil, and eraser - Fabric for your Mock-up (toile) What's provided - Pattern-making paper - Access to pattern-making and sewing tools and equipment Whether you want to recreate a treasured wardrobe favourite or simply build your pattern-making skills, this course will give you the confidence and knowledge to do both.
